Events and goals

Like GA4, everything Turbi records is an event with a name and optional parameters.

Automatic events

  • page_view: every page load and single-page app navigation.
  • user_engagement: how long the page was visible. It powers session duration and time on page.
  • click with outbound: true: links to other sites (can be turned off).
  • file_download: links to PDFs, zips, documents and media (can be turned off).

Custom events

turbi('signup', { plan: 'pro', source: 'pricing_page' });

Event names use letters, numbers, _ . : -, up to 64 characters. Send up to 25 parameters with string, number or true/false values. Don't send personal information such as emails or names.

If you call turbi() before the script loads, add this stub first so nothing is lost:

<script>window.turbi = window.turbi || function () { (turbi.q = turbi.q || []).push(arguments) }</script>

Goals

A goal counts sessions that send a given event, optionally on matching pages. Set them under Settings → Goals. Use page_view with a path like /thanks/* for a destination goal.

Funnels

A funnel is 2 to 8 steps that should happen in order within one session. Each step is an event, optionally on matching pages.
